Exclusive Interview: Raghu Boddu on ToggleNow, Innovation, and the AI-Powered Future

By Srujan, Editor, Success Wikis

In an era where digital transformation is no longer optional but essential, one name that’s making waves in the SAP ecosystem and enterprise AI solutions is Raghu Boddu, Managing Director of ToggleNow Software Solutions. With over two decades of experience in SAP Security and Governance, Raghu is now steering ToggleNow—and several of its spin-off initiatives—towards a bold, AI-driven future. Our team got a chance to chat with Raghu to explore his journey, the company’s vision, and what lies ahead in the race toward intelligent enterprise solutions.

Raghu, take us back to the beginning. How did ToggleNow start, and what was the vision at the time?

Raghu Boddu:
ToggleNow started with a simple idea—to make SAP security smarter, more intuitive, and less dependent on reactive firefighting. I was working as a consultant and kept seeing the same challenges over and over again: complex access issues, lack of visibility, and poor integration between governance and actual business operations. So, in 2011, we launched ToggleNow with the mission to bridge those gaps using practical solutions that plug directly into the SAP ecosystem without disrupting it.

Fast forward to now—ToggleNow has several successful products. How has the roadmap evolved?

Raghu Boddu:
We’ve come a long way from building point solutions. Now, we’re focusing on platform-based, integrated applications that deliver insights, automate compliance, and support proactive governance. Our key solutions like Digybots, GAMS360, and ThreatSenseAI are examples of this evolution. Each of these products is designed not just to solve a problem but to anticipate issues before they occur, especially in the areas of Governance, Risk, and Compliance.

What’s exciting is that we’re not stopping at SAP anymore—we’re expanding into cross-application governance, integrating Microsoft Sentinel, AI models, and other data layers to deliver unified insights.

With AI becoming the buzzword, how is ToggleNow adapting or innovating in that space?

Raghu Boddu:
AI isn’t just a checkbox for us—it’s becoming the core enabler across our solutions. We’ve embedded ML-driven anomaly detection in ThreatSenseAI, created GenAI agents through Digybots for GRC automation, and are piloting predictive access simulation models that go beyond static SoD checks.

We’re also investing in AutoSOC and DataGuard, solutions that can self-learn from system usage patterns and raise alerts on abnormal behaviour in real-time. The goal is to build a cognitive security layer—one that understands risk contextually, not just through rules.

Speaking of Digybots, tell us more about that initiative. It seems like a big leap.

Raghu Boddu:
Absolutely. Digybots is our answer to the next-gen workforce enablement. We’ve created domain-specific AI agents for SAP GRC—bots that can understand your user requirements, provide statuses, generate risk matrices, perform access reviews, analyze SU53 error screen shots, and even provide remediation recommendations using your own company policies.

Imagine a compliance officer asking a bot, “Show me high-risk users with unused firefighter access in the last 30 days,” and the system replying with context, evidence, and a suggested action plan. That’s where we’re heading

Do you think AI will fully automate governance or just assist?

Raghu Boddu:
AI is an accelerator, not a replacement. Human oversight is critical, especially in governance, where decisions have regulatory implications. However, AI can eliminate the noise, present curated insights, and allow teams to focus on strategic risks.

The future I envision is where humans define the governance policies, and AI enforces and evolves them based on real-world usage. Think of it as “adaptive governance.”

We’re also being extremely responsible in our AI development—no shortcuts, no black-box models in critical areas.

You’ve also authored books on SAP GRC. How has that experience influenced your approach to building enterprise solutions?

Raghu Boddu:
Authoring books, especially on SAP GRC, forced me to structure knowledge in a way that’s both deep and digestible. It taught me the importance of clarity, real-world relevance, and anticipating the reader’s or user’s next question. That mindset now reflects in our product design—we build solutions that don’t just work technically, but also guide users intuitively. Writing also keeps me grounded—it reminds me that even the most complex topics can be made simple if you understand them well enough.

What excites you the most about the future—personally and professionally?

Raghu Boddu:
Professionally, it’s seeing ToggleNow grow into a full-stack enterprise solution company, not just an SAP add-on vendor. Personally, it’s mentoring the next wave of engineers and architects who will shape the future of enterprise tech. I’m a firm believer that technology must always serve business goals, and we’re just getting started.

Finally, what should customers and partners expect next from ToggleNow?

Raghu Boddu:
We’re going to deepen our AI offerings, expand globally—especially in the US and Middle East—and launch cloud-native versions of our key platforms. Our upcoming releases focus on AI-assisted role design, self-healing access controls, and zero-trust access governance models. And yes, expect more from Digybots—we’re just scratching the surface there.

We want to be the trusted intelligence layer for enterprise governance, wherever your apps and data reside.

Tell us about your investment interests. How do you choose startups to back?

Raghu Boddu:
I invest in startups where I see real-world relevance, resilience, and responsible tech. I look for founders who understand enterprise pain points—not just the tech, but the business process behind it. Startups in enterprise SaaS, AI security, governance automation, and cloud orchestration are my key focus areas.

I often ask, “Does this solve a current inefficiency or create a new capability?” If the answer is yes—and the team has the clarity and grit—I back them. Sometimes, I co-build with them too.

What advice would you give to Gen Z entrepreneurs just starting out in tech?

Raghu Boddu:
My message to Gen Z founders:
Solve real problems. Build for impact, not just valuation.

It’s easy to get carried away with trends, but longevity comes from understanding your customer, adapting quickly, and building trust.

Also, invest in depth, not just breadth. Knowing your space deeply helps you innovate with intent. Finally, surround yourself with people who challenge your thinking—you don’t need yes-men, you need co-creators.

Closing Thoughts

Raghu Boddu isn’t just building tools—he’s reshaping how enterprises think about governance, risk, and access. ToggleNow’s journey is one to watch, especially as the lines between compliance, security, and AI continue to blur.

Stay tuned. The future of SAP Security is not just compliant—it’s intelligent.
